The HYPE and AURA:::
Nowadays, everybody is hot about video. In the domain of video, businesses cater for video conferencing. Big companies are on the move since the video communications came into demand. Cisco, a leader in communications systems provider at the internet level, has announced the acquisition of Norwegian Video Communications Company, Tandberg.
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE?:
Cisco sells EXpensive video communications systems to big business BUT Tandberg targets LOW COST video communications systems for small and medium business. Whats the management and decision level of this purchase? Tandberg is known to have sold systems which can interface with varying underlying technologies.
WHATS THE FLOW?:
The flow is pretty simple, CISCO targets much of the products in the networking domain, whereas the global internet traffic is on the Internet, the acquisitions show that Cisco wants this internet traffic to have a transition towards its networking products by the big-to-medium-to-small business and ultimately to the layman customer.
PROFIT MARGINS?:
Cisco's routers and networking products produce 65 % of Gross Profit Margins, where does the OTHER GROSS PART COMES FROM?
Cisco is expanding!

PTCL secretely doubles Its broadband Speeds
Hi,
All those who are using ptcl broadband connection must have noticed the doubling of their broadband connection speeds. We havent heard of this transition in the TV or on the net. So it must be a beta tester from PTCL. Lets see how LinkdotNet will follow this PTCL's move.
Its a competition but PTCL just kicks other competitor with very low rates each time it decides to maneouver on competitiveness.
Sometimes I feel that PTCL plays competitive monopoly.
Cheers

Fluidity Markets in Pakistan
Hi,
Global Recession is in full swing or might be a start of the big bang, but some markets are still engaging and going good. Clearwire expressed its Quarterly Results and Annually 2008 too, and going well. It is expanding its wimax frontier. Well seems somewhat Fluid in America.
But whats the situation in Pakistan? Telenor gone through its review of final quarter 2008 and claimed good results, but what it says about Telenor Pakistan, I think it is digable. I will dig it in the coming posts.
Does Services are the only frontier for Pakistan, if it then why recession is not touching the services industry in Pakistan?
There are about 35+ Active telecom companies in Pakistan, only few of them are touching the services sector, and remaining are only subcons for these service markets. Well, to measure fluidity in Pakistan, where service uncertainty comes first, is a very difficult task. Each Market segment is not converged towards service towards customer and the market share only depends on a privilaged few companies.
In this blog I will be measuring some aspects of telecom fluidity in Pakistan with respect to global norms.
Lets see.
Cheers
